He was so funny and far too young. Nice tribute.

Another Mitch Classic that the one-and-only-Chickie introduced me to: I opened a yogurt and underneath the lid it said "please try again" they were having a contest that Iwas unaware of. I thought maybe I had opened the yogurt wrong.Or maybe Yoplait was trying to inspire me. Come on Mitch, don't give up! An inspirational message from your friends at Yoplait, fruit on the bottom, hope on top.

hey,...what caused his heart attack,...he was a skinny dude? it wasn't an OD or anything was it?
-------------------------------
Jett - 2005-03-31 23:36:58
SHUT THE HELL UP........ I cannot BELIEVE this. I almost went to see him last weekend in Baltimore, which would have been my first time live. He was one of my favorites. No f-in way...
-------------------------------
Beth - 2005-03-31 23:41:13
damm jett we are twins, I know I was so shocked when I found out. I actually gasped. So so sad. Loved that dude.
-------------------------------
Jett - 2005-03-31 23:47:52
I totally gasped. We just bought his newest CD to listen to on the drive back from home after the funeral. I still freaking can't believe it. I only just learned about him not even a year ago, but he became an instant favorite. I swear, this almost pisses me off.
-------------------------------
Beth - 2005-03-31 23:49:18
I know dude, me too. He was my brother Patch and mine's favorite
-------------------------------
Jett - 2005-03-31 23:50:27
Okay, maybe last weekend he wasn't in Baltimore. I guess it was supposed to be this weekend. Whatever. All I know is that it was last weekend and I heard it on the radio and I wanted to go but I swore we just missed it and....DAMMIT!!!
-------------------------------
Beth - 2005-03-31 23:51:51
apparently this morning he was supposed to have a line call into a Baltimore radio station and obviously they ddin't get through, and the assistant or something answered in tears saying he was unavailable and to call his publicist. then the radio station played that ciip over and over. CLASSY.
-------------------------------
Jett - 2005-03-31 23:59:10
Nice. The media pisses me off. How about instead of looping that and exploiting someone's emotions, play some freaking clips from his stand-up. That's it. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to buy a donut and I'm totally asking for a receipt.
-------------------------------
Beth - 2005-04-01 00:29:28
Make sure you file it under 'D'.

Bill - 2005-04-01 01:05:40
Hey - like the pink layout! I was sad to hear Mitch passed away too... Sucks. I wish I could have seen him in person.
-------------------------------
Ricky - 2005-04-01 01:42:51
I like the chicken-font. Very nice. I admit I had no idea who mitch was but the jokes in the entry made me smile.... and that's good....

robert - 2005-04-01 03:43:37
Well, usually I don't count on young miss Chickie-Legs to be the bearer of bad news but upon reading this entry I have become very sad. Mitch was a very funny individual and I don't know what else to say...I'm actually quite shocked right now. Thanks for the news, lets all have a moment of silence for him.

xquzme - 2005-04-01 10:18:16
Bethie, you're so clever. I love your updated pic! I hate to admit I don't know this guy, especially after reading your entry. Thanks for the Friday morning laugh -- he was hilarious. Does he have a DVD or anything? Where might I find him? I can tell from his banter that he was young. That sucks.
-------------------------------
beth - 2005-04-01 10:20:10
yeah his latest album was called 'Mitch All Together'. Good stuff, it had a cd and a dvd with his stand up act stuff that was on comedy central. He and Dane Cook are my favorites.

bethany - 2005-04-01 12:07:09
See, your sense of humor... I just knew you'd be feeling me on this one. I gasped this morning as well. Then I got teary eyed and said NO NO NO pretty loudly. A lot of people have no clue who he is. My friend Rob introduced me to him and then I couldn't get enough. I actually have some random obscure audio file of him I wish I could upload to D-Land. It is entitled "Easy Chair Hockey Love." So random. So funny. So sad.

I couldn't believe it when I read the news on FARK, it totally brought me down. What a shame. He was one of my favorites as well (I put up a tribute to him on my webpage too). He was unique and funny comedian, but he seemed like a sweet, down-to-Earth guy to boot. He's already missed. By the way Beth, I like your new layout a lot. One critique though: at the top of your page, "WATCH came first" should be "WHICH came first". I don't have your email address or I'd have just emailed you about it.

C-Dog - 2005-04-01 14:17:33
I'm glad to hear about others that appreciated Mitch's humor. I figured he had a following, but no one I know seems to be familiar with him. I first saw him on Comedy Central a few years ago, and he was hysterical. He especially seemed like a good guy, and very genuine.

chickie-legs - 2005-04-01 16:58:23
wow. I can't believe I did that. I'm an idiot. but in my defense it was like 2am when I did it... glad you like it though!
-------------------------------
Gary - 2005-04-01 17:34:19
I thought maybe you couldn't decide between "what" and "which" and just compromised with "watch" ;)
-------------------------------
Mom - 2005-04-01 18:56:16
Well, I don't like your cracked egg face. It doesn't have legs AND you are so much prettier than that camouflage face!
-------------------------------
beth - 2005-04-01 19:19:37
*sigh* someone at work didn't like it either b/c i looked 'sad'. well whatever, the egg took me forever to do (hello those cracks??!) so I'm keepeing int. and it's light pink, so it's easier to look at I think. you know the saying, 'can't please your mother all the time, and can't please your mother all the time.'
-------------------------------
Gary - 2005-04-01 21:21:59
I like your new layout a lot (the pink is definitely easier to read and the lettering at the top looks really cool), but I have to agree with your Mom somewhat. I'd much rather see your "real face" (smiling, preferably) than your face as it's depicted now, all cracked and distorted (almost leper-like), looking all serious and whatnot. You keep your content light and humorous so it's a little at odds with the rest of your page. That said, the egg really does look cool and it seems to say that there's more to Chickie-Legs than just "the funny". So (he continues rambling), it works for me either way (as if anyone asked or cared). Just ignore me, I'm a moron ;)
-------------------------------
Beth - 2005-04-01 21:36:40
well it's just the same face that's been on here for a while now, from the monitor, but has been stylized as if painted on to the egg for easter, but then i worked on it so much, and plus the whole chickie legged thing, so i kept it. if i re-did the face, that would be fine. but like you said there are more face(ts) to me than my so-called goofiness. i have written several times about other boring depressing stuff. so I dont know, I agree but I disagree. Josh suggested I have chicken legs coming out of the shell, not sure. I'll have to think about it :)
-------------------------------
Ricky - 2005-04-01 23:34:22
I saw Mitch tonight on Comedy Central and as it turns out i did know him just not his name. I hurt my tummy laughing......,br.
And for the record, (not that my opinion matters) but I like the face on the egg. I think it does come across maybe a little darker than your humor might suggest but i think it also shows the girl who's into things like Donnie Darko and That orange movie with the clowns and Taxi Driver, which makes for a very multi-leveled, interesting person.... but what do I know? I mean, I'm the guy who just photoshopped his face to look like the love child of Joey, Vin Diesal and Bill Murray......... ok, I go now.

ally - 2005-04-01 23:46:17
He seemed so sweet, like such a genuinely nice person which is pretty rare sometimes... Man. RIP. :(

Bill - 2005-04-14 00:05:10
I can't seem to make links work in the comment section, so I pasted the link in as my website - but it's not. It's a comedian's tribute to Mitch Hedburg. (http://birbigs.com/journal/journal_mitchhedberg.html)

chickie-legs - 2005-04-14 00:14:16
awww thanks Bill, that was the best tribute. thanks so much for that! :)

Kelsey Lorenz - 2005-04-19 10:06:11
I miss him so much, just knowing that there won't be any new mitch jokes. We'll all miss him, Hope you had a great life and such.. yeah.
