Is Amy actually your sister? If so, should she really be calling you sis, or would have Bethie been more appropriate? (I do know that Sis Bethie would have been way off.) I am so confused now.

awh, well, I know it seems really ridiculous this whole Aunt/Uncle thing, but speaking as an Aunt, I really love hearing "aunt ann-frank" from my 5 year old nephew. I adore him so much. So YES it really is for the aunts themselves. Gah! I've never admitted that outloud! But I'll tell him to knock the "aunt" part over when he's 16 then give him a years worth of gas-money because at that point 'aunt' will be totally silly to him (and probably make me feel old) and also, at that time, he will be more interested in driving (thus the gas money) than ice cream. So you know, i am feeling like I am doing my part. opps. sorry to take up so much comment space. I didn't realize I had anything to say on this matter til you brought it up!

Hey Ann Frank that's totally cool. The more comments the better..I actually am indifferent to the whole aunt/uncle thing, I just wanted to throw out an idea for discussion..plus I am also an Aunt. My niece Cameron is the light of my life. My sister gave me permission to post pictures of her. She is also 5. I love her to death. But she doesn't call me 'Aunt Beth' she calls me 'Beffie' (speech impediment) so I'm cool with that :) But I know what you're talking about!

Beeeeell - 2003-10-19 07:46:44
My niece and nephews have just recently started using the term "uncle" in front of my name - and that is only because my sister made them. For the longest time I was just 'Beeeeell'. I understand why my sister has asked them to put the word uncle in front of my name, but I am not a huge fan of it. I am not opposed to anyone being called uncle - I just don't want it in front of my name, I think it makes me sound old. I've never liked getting older. I want to be young forever.
